Celebration, fresh off the heels of their major label debut, The Modern Tribe (4AD, 2007), will be playing at the new 2640 cooperative arts venue tomorrow night, December 8.  Also playing are Lexie Mountain Boys and Dragons of Zynth.  Tickets are $10 and available at Red Emma's or True Vine Record Shop. Show starts at 7.

Celebration are a psychedelic band from Baltimore, fronted by the electrifying Katrina Ford. The lead single from The Modern Tribe, "Evergreen", spins soulful vocals over layers of organ and drums.

Lexie Mountain Boys are an all-female madhouse of stomping, chanting, and clapping, using the body as an instrument and the group as a collective symphony of kinesthetic creativity.

Dragons of Zynth are a complex package of indescribable sound combinations from New York. Free-form and fancy-free to boot, it's best described as a thrashing melee of soul, droning guitars, and Sabbath-like vocals.

2640 is a joint venture between Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse and St. John's United Methodist Church. The fledgling project has landed itself this fantastic show and could absolutely use your support!
