Dead Child (Slint, Crain) at Talking Head April 21

Dead Child

If you're looking for something to do on a Monday night here in town you might head over to the Talking Head to feast your eyes on Dead Child from Louisville. Often talked about for counting Dan Pajo of indie legends Slint and members of the equally awesome but less universally recognized Crain among their membership, Dead Child are far from an indie rock band. Taking an old standard, "Sweet Chariot", and spinning it into a fired-up NWOBHM thrasher, Pajo says "metal has replaced folk music as the voice of the common man." Where Slint made their mark on the world of post-rock, Dead Child stand to encourage the evolution of metal as a vehicle for expression of the instinctive and the expressive.
